Why Cloth?

To avoid TOXIC chemicals on your babies skin. Dioxin is a chemical used in disposables, and research shows that if used over a long period of time can cause cancer, birth defects, liver damage, and skin diseases.

Have you ever seen or felt the bead-like-gel substance in disposables?

This is the chemical that is meant to keep your baby “super-dry”. This chemical is the same chemical that was removed from tampons in 1985 because of its association with toxic shock syndrome (TSS).

Disposables also contain Tributaylin (TBT). This is a toxic pollant known to cause hormone problems.

Reduce your families carbon footprint:

Did you know that one disposable diaper can sit in a landfill for up to 500 years?! During the time that it sits there Urine and feces rot producing methane gas that can leach into local rivers and ponds.  Making disposables actually uses more water than washing cloth diapers (2.3 times more water, and 3.5 times more energy)!

Last but not least COMFORT:

Diaper rashes are less frequent if not non existent when using cloth.  Chemicals and perfumes in disposables causes frequent skin irritations.  Also disposables tend to be changed less often because the baby feels “dry”.

One last reason to choose cloth (as if you need one more reason :)

Cloth diaper covers with adorable colors and prints are SO stinkin’ CUTE!!!
